Kohl pot with separate collar and lid. If this is from Abydos it may be from John Garstang's 1900 season for the Egyptian Research Account, or his later excavations between 1906 and 1909 for the University of Liverpool. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Worn, minor chips, label adhered to base. Round sticker on the base with pencil annotation: 7/6. Placed for auction at Sotheby's, London, 22-23 July 1926 (Mrs John Garstang collection) Lot 7/6 "A standing Vase, in bluish translucent stone, 3 1/2 in. high, 12th Dynasty cracked; and two Kohl Vessels with lids, one in black stone with loose lip, 1 3/4 in. high, the other in alabaster, 2 in. high; both 12th Dynasty".
