Eliza Sharpe began her career as a miniaturist, before turning to larger watercolours of domestic, historic and literary scenes. Her father and sisters were all artists too and all were important members of the Old Watercolour Society, of which Eliza Sharpe became a 'Lady Member' in 1829.
