Cream bowl

LL 1510

A solid blue jasperware dish, covered in elaborate white jasper sprigged decoration. Bowls like this were made to contain cream or sugar and would have originally been sold with a ladle. They were used during the dessert course. The dessert was very elaborate with many different types of sweatmeats, jellies and custards etc. The whole table would have been decorated with the best tableware, flowers, fruit and and fancy decorations made from sugar.
