After the 1st World War, full colour illustrated posters were widely used. Artists were employed to create images and text to attract the attention of potential clients. The blank space below the image of this poster was for the inclusion of information from the travel agent's office. The national anthem of Canada was one of the songs included in song sheets provided by the shipping companies and sang by passengers emigrating to start their new lives in Canada. ‘’…O Canada, where pines and maples grow, Great prairies spread and lordly rivers flow.
