Information

Red burnished pottery cup of alabastron form, the cylindrical body tapering to the rounded base. Plain rim. Light brown fabric that has been coated with a slip and burnished vertically to a weak red colour. Marked by the excavator in black ink: 417 A'07. There are two other items from 417 A'07 in World Museum: a ceramic jar (1977.109.117) and an alabaster jar (60.34.20). CONDITION NOTE (1998): Chipped rim, surface loss, scratched, pitted, dirt. Note with the jar reads: "Pot of early XVIII th Dynasty. This Dynasty of Kings began about 1580.B.C. NK/-".
