Information

The early watercolourists John Sell Cotman and John Varley had drawn Duncombe Park, and they were both artists who Piper admired. It is not surprising therefore that he chose to include Duncombe in the rosta of his many drawings of English stately homes. The drawing was exhibited with other new work by Piper at the Leciester Galleries, London in 1952.
