Dish, saucer-shaped, decorated with floral designs reserved in white in a powdery blue glaze.  In the centre is a peony scroll; and round th sides, a running lily scroll.  Similar ornament on the reserve.  The details of the design are traced in white slip.  The restrained, formal design suggests that the dish was made for the Chinese domestic market, perhaps by an imperial factory.  Mark of the Yongzheng period (1723-1735 AD).

'Anhua' (hidden) decoration appears most often on porcelains of the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD), particular on thinly potted white wares and on the interior surface of vessels having underglaze painted decoration on the exterior.
