Information

This sculpture is of the sisters Dora Naylor (1847 - 1878) and Margaret Naylor (1848 - 1928). Benjamin E. Spence was a Liverpool sculptor who worked in the fashionable neo-classical style in the early Victorian period. John Naylor, a Liverpool banker, commissioned this sculpture in 1852. The sculpture was brought to Sudley House because in the 20th century, a member of the Naylor family married a member of the Holt family, creating a link between the two.
