Information

A double herm of two males, the lower part of the herme stele was added onto the heads. One of the head is of the older man with the beard and a hat ( petasos ) that has wings possibly Hermes or Perseus. The younger man has a fillet across the forehead and a helmet with cheek pieces and a pair of horns on the front of it. There is also a ram's head with its nose downward over each ear, perhaps related to the representation of Zeus the Ammon. His expression is severe, perhaps a soldier. Ashmole even suggested Alexander or one of his descendants.
