Pair of disc-shaped ear plugs with pronounced groove around the circumference that enables them to be fitted into a distended earlobe.In the past, before 2006, it has been wrongly interpreted as a "black polished pottery draughtsmen" (Downes, 1974, p.127). Comparable to today's double flared flesh plugs worn in a stretched ear lobe piercing. Marked by the excavator in pencil with the number 4 in a circle. From tomb 253 E'05 which also contained a New Kingdom wine jar with hieratic annotation (also in World Museum's collection, no. 1977.110.34). CONDITION NOTE (1998): Chipped around edges, worn, surface dirt.
