Echis carinatus (Schneider, 1801)

Small viper with broad, flat head with short snout. Back may be brown, greyish or reddish with a series of light spots which may by fused to form transverse dorsal bands. Each flank has a row of light markings which sometimes fuse to from a wavy stripe. Lenght up to 60 cm.
