Emerald Sea on the Coast of Mayo, Ireland

Jones grew up in Crosby, Merseyside. He was a member of the Liver Sketching Club and a life member of the Liverpool Artists' Club. He produced many etchings of Liverpool streets and houses and had a studio on the north side of Clayton Square in the city centre. He regularly exhibited at the Liverpool Autumn Exhibitions at the Walker, from 1891 onwards. There is a large group of his works held a the Liverpool Record Office, including other seascapes like this one.
