A small frog, colour may be cream, greenish, rufous, grey-brown or blackish above, usually freckled or blotched with darker shades of a similar or contrasting colour and often sprinkled with minute white spots. Underside strikingly pigmented, usually pinkish, slate-grey or purplish, vividly decorated with pale spots. Length of males up to 22 mm, females 27 mm. PARATYPE
