Ewer
LL 1016
Information
This ewer was designed for decorative use and it may have been set within a group of items, perhaps above a fireplace on a chimneypiece or in an alcove. The glaze that Wedgwood has used is designed to make the ewer look like it has been carved from a hard stone such as granite. The gilded parts of the ewer are meant to imitate metal mounts.
It is one of a pair with LL 1015. They are shown at the extreme left and extreme right of the photograph.
