Ewer in the form of a shou character

Ewer, modelled in the form of the character Shou (longevity) with mirror-shaped panels in the centre. Enamelled on the biscuit. In one panel is the scholar, Zhou Dunyi (courtesy name Chou Mao-shu), seated by a lotus pond, and in the other, poet Tao Yuanming, with attendant holding a pot of chrysanthemums. In the remaining spaces are brocade patterns of floral scrolls in yellow ground. The handle is painted with basket pattern in yellow. The spout is restored.
