Ex-pats quilt

MMM.2001.116

Information

Ex-pat’ Liverpudlians living all around the world made squares for this patchwork quilt to celebrate their millennium homecoming in Liverpool, in the year 2000. Barbara Mager, in Winnipeg, Canada, sewed the squares together to make the quilt. Each of the 53 square tells a personal emigration story, including details of where in Liverpool the maker was born, when they left and where they settled around the world. It was kindly donated to the Museum's collections in 2000.
