Information

Pottery head from a female figure. Four piercings on the top for plaited hair. Both ears have piercing holes. Marked on the back 'L' in pencil. Excavated by the Egypt Exploration Society at Deir el Bahri, near the funerary temple of Mentuhotep II, 1903-4. Described in the EES correspondance as "XVIIIth dyn. Head of Hathor, with holes for inserting strings of beads for hair. Pottery." CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, surface dirt.
