Seated statuette of Horus the Child (also known as Harpocrates) represented as a nude boy wearing the double feather crown that associates him with the god Amun. A separately cast sidelock was mechanically attached to the crown with a pin, an icongraphic symbol denoting his youth. His right forefinger is raised to his mouth, a child-like gesture used as a hieroglyphic determinative to write the word, Srj, ‘child’. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Some loose parts but still attached, surface dirt; Areas of corrosion, such as under the kilt, need treatment.
