Figure of Isis with Horus the Child

Copper alloy figure of Isis nursing Horus. She wears a crown with lunar disc and two horns and oversize uraus wearing the White Crown. This statuette shows Isis nursing her son Horus. Legends tell how they fled to the marshes to escape the god Seth after he murdered Horus’s father, Osiris. They remained hidden in the marshes until Horus was old enough to fight Seth and recover the throne of Egypt. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Heavily corroded, fresh corrosion.
