Figure of a Man
Head from a figurine of a male wearing a wig made up of a number of layers of suare-shaped locks arranged in an echelon (echelon-curl wig). Could be from the Old Kingdom. Remains of ancient wooden rivet in the neck. Poor technique. Garstang believed it was from either Esna or Abydos. For sculpture with similar hair see Petrie Museum no. UC14813.
