Final Report of the Research on the Sexual Health Needs of Lesbians, Bisexual Women & Women who have Sex with Women in Merseyside/Cheshire

The Sexual Health And Dykes (SHADY) research project began in 1994 when a group of lesbian and bisexual women from Liverpool, the Wirral, and across the North-West came together to discuss undertaking much needed research into the sexual health needs of lesbians, bisexual women, and women who have sex with women. The research aimed to uncover what the term ‘sexual health’ meant when applied to these groups of women and to find out what sexual health risks they thought they might encounter. The group also researched which sexual health services these women currently accessed and what provision they needed in order to inform sexual health services on the best way to provide services to lesbian and bisexual women and women who have sex with women.
