Finger Ring

Currently not on display

Cast of a magical gem stone perhaps with some restoration. The setting for the ring is in recessed outline around the edges. The ring shows a crab, an animal often used in magical gem stones, a popular type of amulet in ancient Rome from 1st century BC to the 3rd century AD. Amulets of that type were often worn as rings or pendants.
