Finger ring with hieroglyphs on bezel spelling out the name Ankhesenamun, the name a daughter of the pharaoh, Akhenaten, who became the Great Royal Wife of the pharaoh, Tutankhamun. Purchased for the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at Sotheby's, London, 16 December 1924 (Bethell collection), Lot 358; previously in the Tyssen-Amherst collection, sold at Sotheby's, London, 17 June 1921 as part of a group of faience ring fragments from Petrie's 1891-92 excavations at Tell el-Amarna (lots 883-886).
