Finger Ring

Turquoise engraved scarab in gold ring. Seated deity (?) above a neb sign within a cartouche. Scarab would appear to be a forgery and is very much like number M11735. Joseph Mayer’s catalogue for the object reads: “27. Signet, in form of a scarabeus, of turquoise, set in gold. It has a cartouche, the name not yet ascertained.” (1852 p. 17). Note on the Gatty slip, "A forgery ( W. M. F. Petrie)".
