Green faience ring bezel bearing, in raised relief, a representation of Taweret with an ankh and sa hieroglyphs before her symbolising life and protection. Hoop missing. Marked in ink 744. Purchased for the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at Sotheby's, London, 16 December 1924 (Bethell collection), Lot 358; previously in the Tyssen-Amherst collection, sold at Sotheby's, London, 17 June 1921 as part of a group of faience ring fragments from Petrie's 1891-92 excavations at Tell el-Amarna (lots 883-886).
