Fragment of yellow and blue faience ring bezel. Part of left side hoop still attached.
Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. A31969 (23 items): 11 bright blue bezels of rings from Tell-el-Amarna. From ¼" to ¾" X 3/8" XVIII Dynasty;
4 dark blue bezels of rings from Tell-el-Amarna from 5/8" X ¼" to ¾" X ½"; 4 yellow including one in the form of utchat eye, from ½" X 3/8" to ¾" X ½"; One green in the form of utchat eye, ½" X ½"; Green bezel of ring broken in 2 pieces ¾" X ½"; White bezel with part of blue ring remaining ¾" X ½"; One red bezel of ring ½" X 3/8". Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 16 December 1924 (Bethell collection), Lot 358 "Twenty-two bezels of faience Rings from Tell-el-Amarna, many of fine work and colour; XVIII dynasty (Amherst collection)". Previously in the Tyssen-Amherst collection, sold at Sotheby's, London, 17 June 1921 as part of a group of faience ring fragments from Petrie's 1891-92 excavations at Tell el-Amarna (lots 883-886).
