Finger Ring Fragment
Fragment of the bezel from a faience finger ring. Features a lotus flower and perhaps an aegis (?). CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, surface dirt, worn. Purchased for the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at Sotheby's, London, 16 December 1924 (Bethell collection), Lot 358; previously in the Tyssen-Amherst collection, sold at Sotheby's, London, 17 June 1921 as part of a group of faience ring fragments from Petrie's 1891-92 excavations at Tell el-Amarna (lots 883-886).
