Fish Hook

21.9.82.5.1

Information

A two-piece fish hook with a wood shank and a bone point. The bend is 'v'-shaped with a round/oval cross-section tapering away from the angle. The point has a straight tip, with a barb on each of the inner and outer surfaces, and is lashed on to the wood at a right angle. The line is plaited and ends in a knot. There is a twisted fibre cord wrapped around the head of the shank and the base of the point, but this does not look original.
