Red-on-White Ware flask. Large, flask-shaped vase with high, flaring foot, angular body, long neck with no extra rim. One thin, moulded ring at base of neck. Painted decoration: sets of bands around base, lower body; at widest point of body, a band of pendant triangles bordered by thin bands; on top surface of shoulder, a frieze of stylized waterbirds (with long legs, tails) to the right set off with star-like rosettes; sets of three lines around neck. Eyes of birds are reserved. The fabric is hard, yellow-tan, with large quantities of mica particles. The paint is fairly bright orange, misfired to dark brown on one side. Two holes were pierced through the foot before firing. Intact, slightly chipped.
