Flask

Pottery flask with smooth red-coloured burnished surface. Tight narrow neck with wide rim. The shape suggest this is not Middle Kingdom as previously thought. Perhaps Late Period or afterwards. Collected by Mr J. H. T. Dawson in the early 20th century. When he lived and worked in Egypt he would visit different places and purchase small objects such as pottery, amulets and beads. This pot is recorded as being collected in the Beni Hasan area.
