Pilgrim flask. Burnished red surface with concentric circle decoration. Described as "Two stirrup vases. Coptic Period, about 600 A.D." in the inventory of objects allotted to Liverpool from the Mond bequest prepared by Dr I. E. S. Edwards of the British Museum in 1939.
