Information

A young boy clambers over the remains of a building destroyed by a high explosive bomb on Fleet Street in the city centre, 25 September 1940. “I remember coming home from school, you know all the streets where a couple of bombs had fell, and it was all closed off. We used to spend all the time rooting in all the houses. They were derelict really and they were there until well after the war.” Douglas Darroch, 2003. Liverpool Voices Archive, Museum of Liverpool.
