This flower pot is made from white jasper which has been dipped in lilac jasper. White jasper decoration has been applied to the body of the pot. The pot has a metal internal plate with circular holes. This is designed to support the flowers.
The white jasper decoration is based on a wax relief on slate by Giuseppe Angelini (1742-1811). It depicts ' Geniuses Representing the Pleasures of the Elysian Fields'   and it was copied from an ancient relief in the Capitoline Museum in Rome.
