Flower pot

This blue and white jasper flower pot has applied white jasper decoration around the pedestal base. The shape of this flower pot is based on Greco-Roman architectural columns. An interest in ancient architecture in the eighteenth century was fed by exciting archaeological discoveries, such as the ancient Roman city of Pompeii. The pair to this flower pot is LL 1549.
