Folding Table

A small wooden table, which has a sliding top, secured by a metal lock, underneath is a drawer. The table is decorated with three panels on both the front and back. The borders are decorated with gold background and red scrolling flowers. In the centre is a cut out design, each panel showing an object, which are possibly symbols of the Eight Immortals (a fan, a vase and a gourd), the two side panels are decorated with cut out designs of flowers, some flowers to the right hand side panel are broken and lost. The top band is decorated with two dragons chasing a flaming pearl. The top of the table is finished in a deep red/brown varnish with gold motifs, including a medallion of swirling, linear dragons chasing flaming pearls and fretwork in each corner with entwined scrolling leaves.
