Pair of leather sandals with a Greek inscription painted on them in gold, which has been translated, "You will become strong [or sound] since Christ has died." Entry in the museum's Annual Report records that the slippers were "taken from a fermale mummy found near to Bennah, during the excavations for the railway from Alexandria to Cairo".
CONDITION NOTE (1998): Right treated with carbo wax, left with araldite in 1992; left support: paint is flaking off.
