A French Innkeeper

Information

Frances Hodgkins lived in Paris for ten years sometime between 1900 and 1914, often painting people or scenes of domestic life that she encountered there. With this in mind, 'A French Innkeeper' might be someone that she once stayed with. As the watercolour is inscribed 'Francois', we can assume this was the name of the innkeeper.
