Funerary Cone of Denreg

Pottery funerary cone, stamped on the round end with the name and title of the deceased. The hieroglyphic inscription reads: “Revered one before Osiris, chief wab-priest, Denreg justified" [jmAxy xr Asjr Hrj wab dnrg mAa-xrw]. The stamped end is coloured red, deeply impressed and slightly off-centre. The finger and thumb marks of the maker are still visible. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, surface dirt, worn, chipped, adhesive residue.
