Information

Pottery funerary cone, stamped on the round end twice with the name and title of the deceased. The hieroglyphic inscription reads: "Revered one before Osiris, chief wab-priest, Denreg justified" [jmAxy xr Asjr Hrj wab dnrg mAa-xrw]. The stamped end is coloured red and the signs are now worn. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, chipped, worn, surface dirt. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. 27445A: Two Egyptian pottery model loaf-seal cones, 7" and 6½". Purchased at Stevens's, London, 15 July 1924 Lot 481.
