Funerary Model of a Male Figure

Fragment of a male figure. Limbs and face missing. Traces of red paint on the upper body, black paint on hair and white paint on the kilt. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, very dry, surface loss, pigment loss, surface dirt. Aylward Blackman was Brunner Professor of Egyptology at the University of Liverpool between 1948 and 1956. Between 1912 and 1920 he spent five fieldwork seasons at Meir, recording the rock-cut tombs in this part of Middle Egypt, from where this object was collected.
