Gathering Thunderstorm

This drawing was a sketch for a Liverpool Autumn Exhibition catalogue illustration. It shows the Loch of Skene in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Cooke has used crosshatching to create the illusion of shade or texture in this drawing and by doing so has managed to capture the thunderous, menacing sky.
