Girl Picking Honeysuckle

LL 3166

Information

The painting was cleaned and restored in 1959. It may have been cut down, either at this time or earlier, since the dimensions are not those of a standard portrait canvas and the figure seems awkwardly placed and overlarge in the design. The work may be by more than one hand, for the face is quite delicately painted whereas the remainder (especially the hat) has the air of an afterthought and is much more rushed in execution.
