Glass rinser

A blue jasper bowl with white jasper sprigged decoration. The fruiting vine decoration and the icicle border around the base give some clue as to how the bowl was used. It was made to hold spare glasses during the dessert service. The glasses would have been placed in the bowl with their bowls downwards resting in ice cold water. Guests would help themselves to a clean glass when they needed one.
