Information

Roughly rectangular sherd of thin walled ware with eight lines of Greek text in black ink. A tax receipt written in Greek from two tax collectors called Aibontios Niger and Pachnumi. Dated to 19 June AD 175 during the reign of Gaius Avidius Cassius, a Roman usurper who briefly ruled Egypt and Syria in AD 175.
