A Guardroom with Soldiers

Teniers painted several large guardroom scenes with soldiers drinking, smoking and gaming. He shows off his artistic skill in the elaborate still-life of armour, drums, flags and pistols. His eye for detail is reflected in the cinders from a soldier’s pipe glowing on the floor. The background view shows a gun battery.
