Halton Castle, Near Runcorn Gap

Although the inscription describes this as Beeston Castle in Cheshire, it is quite obviously Halton Castle near Runcorn Gap. Another, smaller, watercolour (WAG 719.1) appears to be the working sketch for this finished drawing. The view today remains largely the same.
