The Hansom Cab

Robert Bevan studied in London and Paris. In the 1890s in Brittany, France, he met the artist Paul Gauguin, whose colourful work inspired him, although this work is not particularly representative of that. In this work Bevan shows the clear influence of the Impressionists and their interest in urban scenes.
