Hat

After the expedition ship the Dayspring was wrecked at Jebba on the Niger River in October 1857, Selim Aga accompanied Lieutenant Glover on an overland expedition to the coastal town of Lagos to collect supplies for their stranded expedition. They took the ‘Yoruba road’ that passed through Ilorin so this may have been when Aga acquired this hat.
