Head from a votive statue
A small female head from a votive statuette. The woman has almond shaped and silghtly bulgy eyes without lids. The left eye has the pupil painted in red, most of the right eye is missing. Red pigment can also be seen on the thin and slighly smiling lips and the hair. The nose is broken and there is a big hacking mark on the right side of the head. The crown of the head is conical, suggestive of the hair being tied up or wrapped up in a fillet at the top back of the head. At the top of the head the hair is shaped in shallow curls while at the back the hair is in the shape of drops. The woman is wearing long looped earings on both her ears.
