Head from a votive statue

A small head of a female from a votive statue. Most of the facial features of the head have faded, the eyes are almond shaped and the eye brows are well arched. There is the distinct smile on the woman's face typical of the Archaic Cypriot sculpture and also found on male votive statues. The hair is arranged in long locks at the back of the head. She wears a tiara or a wreath, on the left side of which there are traces of red colour. There is a thick row of hair locks on the forehead. The female also wears earings on both her ears and a necklace. Parts of the limestone on the jaw and the face have fallen. There are traces of red colour at the back of the head.
